Queen City Lake
Tucked just beyond LaFayette High School, Queen City Lake is a serene, city-maintained spot for paddling, fishing, and soaking up the sunshine. Originally a reservoir, this peaceful lake is now open daily from sunrise to sunset and is completely free to access.
While gas-powered boats and alcohol are prohibited, local outfitters offer kayak, canoe, and paddleboard rentals nearby—making it easy to enjoy a quiet afternoon on the water. It’s a favorite low-key getaway for families and nature-lovers alike.

Pigeon Mountain / Crockford-Pigeon Wildlife Management Area
